Archival signal is corrupted, deleted, and manipulated. Chronos weights provenance — wayback archives, cached social graphs, legal filings, press archives — over surface-visible data by a factor of seven.

Live posture is managed. Chronos compares what a target is showing now against what the PAST horizon predicts they would be showing — the delta is the intelligence.

Chronos forecasts trajectory vectors, not fixed outcomes. An escalating target, a decaying target, a pivoting target — direction is intelligence; precision is theatre.

Chronos always runs an ADVERSARY horizon — simulating a hostile actor against the target — because your investigator is thinking about what is, while the attacker is thinking about what is exploitable.
The Contradiction Layer
The horizons are not averaged. They are argued against each other. Chronos surfaces explicit contradictions — "PAST suggests financial distress, PRESENT shows new spending" / "PRESENT shows stable employment, FUTURE shows departure vector" — and every contradiction flagged increases or decreases the final threat index according to a doctrine-locked weighting schema. Contradictions are the signal, not the noise.
